White Tiger and Black Tiger: mounts for the Knight, Wizard, Elf and Gladiator
The Mount slot, which used to belong to the Dark Lord alone, now shows in the Inventory of the Knight, the Wizard, the Elf and the Gladiator. It takes a White Tiger or a Black Tiger, from level 40. With the tiger equipped, your hero rides it across the map and other players see you on it; the tiger's art turns to match the direction you walk in. If you have wings you keep them, but while mounted you ride instead of floating. The Dark Lord keeps the Dark Horse and never rides a tiger.
The tiger gives +10% movement speed, Defense of 4 plus its level, and Damage Reduction up to 4% (1% every 12 levels). It starts at level 1 and grows up to 50 with your hunts: every monster you kill gives the tiger experience, a golden monster gives three times as much and a boss ten times, and it never goes above the hero's level. Like the Lord's companions, the tiger has Health and slowly wears down when you take hits while riding; if it faints, it stops working until the Chaos Goblin heals it in the Heal companion tab, for Zen (a fainted tiger also needs 1 Blessing Jewel). The item's tooltip in the Inventory shows all of this: level, Defense, Damage Reduction, Speed, Health and experience.
To get a tiger you need a Tiger Claw. It drops from the golden monsters of the Ruins of Eldor, Devias Fields, Frozen Peaks, Crystal Cave, Forgotten Crypt, Fiery Abyss, Celestial Plateau and Upper Devias, with a 2% chance, and also from twelve bosses, with 6% to 10%: Minotaur Kharzul; Ancient Yeti Hrimgar; Azhkar, the Entombed King; Bhalor, the Frozen Mammoth; Ice Queen; Queen Selvyra; Kragmor, the Crystal Colossus; Vhorek, the Bloodthirsty Lord; Warlock Morvane; Ignarax, the Crimson Dragon; Vorthrak, the Storm Colossus; and Frost General Vargoth.
Take the claw to the Chaos Goblin in Noria (through the green portal in the Village of Lumen, from level 10, or with Selene, for 2,000 Zen) and open the Create companion tab. The recipe is the Tiger Claw, 3 Blessing Jewels, 3 Soul Jewels, 1 Chaos Jewel and 3,000,000 Zen, with a 65% chance. Before you confirm, you choose White Tiger or Black Tiger: the same claw makes either one, and both have the same bonuses; only the color changes. If it fails, the claw goes back into your bag and only the jewels and the Zen are spent. The new tiger is born at level 1 and needs a free 2×2 space in your bag.
The images show real gameplay, with test characters created just for the demonstration: a level 60 Knight and a level 60 Elf, with level 30 tigers and demonstration items.
