GETTING STARTED

Your first steps in Aetheria

Scroll of Mana is a free online pixel art RPG played directly in your browser, with no download. You create a hero, explore Aetheria, face monsters and develop your character through equipment and skills. This guide follows the journey from your first sign-in to preparing for your next adventure.

Sign in and choose your realm

Open the account area to sign in with Google or create a username-and-password account. Then choose Lumen or Eldor. The realm matters: your characters and the vault you view belong to the selected world. When you return to the portal, check that choice before looking for your hero.

Choose one of five classes when creating your character. The Knight fights up close, the Wizard casts spells, the Elf uses bows, the Gladiator combines styles, and the Dark Lord develops Command and companions. Compare the options in the class guide before deciding.

Computer controls

On a computer, clicking is your starting point: move through the world, attack monsters and interact with NPCs and objects. Skills on the bar aim at your cursor. Check the in-game Help for the full controls and learn one action at a time.

On phones and tablets

With touch controls, drag the joystick in the lower corner to walk. Attack uses your selected target or the nearest monster; Switch target selects the next one without attacking. Tap a skill to use it on your target, or drag its button to aim. Moving your finger back to the button cancels that aim.

Tap the orbs to drink potions and Pick up to collect the nearest item. The menu gathers windows and options, including touch settings. A Classic mode also lets you tap the world to walk. Read Help to check the gestures for the mode you choose.

Follow quests and get to know the village

Talk to NPCs and read the goals of the opening quests. The quest window helps you track what is left; on a computer, open it with J. Before leaving the village, find the merchants and vault so you know where to return when your inventory fills up.

New paths become available as your level increases. Take time before entering an unfamiliar area: watch the damage you receive, keep potions available and return to reorganize your equipment. On a computer, M opens the teleport window, where you can check destinations and access conditions.

Equip, store and inspect your items

An item you find may belong to another class or require a level and attributes your hero does not yet have. Read its details before replacing a piece: weapons, armor and the off-hand follow each class’s rules. On touch screens, opening an item shows its actions; on a computer, I opens the inventory.

Store items you want to keep in the village vault. It is shared by your characters in the same realm. The account area lets you inspect that collection, equipment and skills away from the combat screen, helping you prepare for your next session.

Progress and follow game updates

As you earn experience, your character gains levels and can develop attributes and skills. Check each skill’s requirements before adding it to your bar. The level cap is 500, and rebirths are part of later progression; first learn your hero’s combat style and equipment.

Read the published updates to learn about changes and new features. When you return, sign into the same account and select the realm where you created your character. Use the links below to review the classes, access your account or open the game and continue your story.
